The 5 Most Romantic Museums in Paris
The capital of the art, the City of Light, recognized universally as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Paris planted a huge cultural richness that obligations, not only to its history, but also to a formidable heritage. With its museums, Paris never ceases to transport us through time and space.
Here is a selection of my favorite museums in Paris (also the most dreamy and romantic places):
Close to the Invalides and the Eiffel Tower, the Rodin Museum is one of the most charming places in Paris. Consists of a unique 18th century mansion and a garden of sculptures that covered nearly 3 hectares in the heart of Paris. The perfect harmony of this garden around the Rodin monuments and the new visitors circuit inside the Biron hotel will make you feel calm and dreamy.
Discover more than five hundred plaster, marble and bronze statues in the gardens and workshops where Antoine Bourdelle was entitled and lived. Enter the world of the colleague by Rodin and the teacher by Giacometti, Germaine Richier and Vieira da Silva.
Owned by the Institut de France, it presents art collections worthy of great museums in a magnificent Second Empire mansion. Often compared to the Frick Collection in New York, it has maintained its mansion atmosphere, making it unique in Paris. This museum allows visitors to explore the 19th century living rooms: ceremonial rooms, monumental stops, garden of winter, private apartments and more.
The Petit Palais is an architectural joy that dates back to 1900, located on the Avenue des Champs-Elysées. The building, which like the Grand Palais in front of it, was built for the Universal Exposition and houses the Musée des Beaux-Arts de la Ville de Paris. Visitors can discover a collection of paintings by the main French artists of the 19th century: Delacroix, Monet, Sisley, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, Courbet, etc. A small garden interior in the open area, that you can stroll, adds to the charm of the establishment.
Montmartre museum
The Montmartre Museum was created in 1960 in the oldest structure in Montmartre, built in the 17th century, and houses a collection of paintings, posters and drawings by Toulouse-Lautrec, Modigliani, Kupka, Steinlen, Valadon, Utrillo and more. As you walk through the museum, you will relive the history of the area, the lively art scene of its studios, and the atmosphere of its famous cabarets.
