The #MetGalaChallenge
Today, 5th of May, is the day in which the Met Gala should have taken place in NYC.
The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute organizes the most important Gala of the year, for the benefit of the Museum. This night has become the event of the year, where all the important celebrities attend, showing the most amazing costumes ever.
Every year there is a different theme, and the top fashion brands and designers work with each celebrity to create a personalized and unique costume that are categorized like real fashion masterpieces, and makes this luxury event the most iconic moment of the year.
Sadly, this year the event has been canceled due to the Covid-19 crisis we are living worldwide. Celebrities and fashion houses will have to wait for next year to surprise the whole world at the amazing red carpet and create the shocking moments that every Met Gala leaves.
For this reason Vogue and Billy Porter have created the #MetGalaChallenge on Instagram. They have invited users and fans from all around the world, to recreate or invent their own Met Gala look.
Knowing the difficult situation we are living by quarantine and having to stay at home, this idea comes as a creative and fun activity to do at home.
People have done amazing designs with objects that we all can have at home. We have created moodboards with some of the amazing ideas and looks that we have found and they are amazingly original!
Going through all the pictures is so much fun, you really can enjoy the creativity from everyone, and how good they have reinvented some Met Gala looks by doing their quarantine version. This great idea has made us laugh instead of being sad for the big event cancellation. It has kept the Met Gala as the main character of the day and has invited everyone to join the Gala from home.
Even if it's canceled, no one will ever forget this Met Gala 2020 home looks. We encourage you to go through the hashtag 's post and have fun! And if you have some free time today, be brave, take all your creativity out, and try to do your own version of your favorite Met Gala look, keep the fashion spirit alive!
